VOLUNTEER COACHING REQUIREMENTS

Forms:
Coaches must fill out two forms which our club keeps on file: (1) a NJYS Coaching Membership form and (2) a NJYS KidSafe form. It's very easy and all forms are on our site. Check out out Coaches Menu.

Fingerprinted and Background Checked (every 3 years) :
In order to be eligible to coach/assistant coach Hamilton Twp and now starting in 2018-19 NJ Youth Soccer mandates that all volunteers must be fingerprinted and have cleared a background check within the past 3 years. You must get fingerprinted and background checked BEFORE the league starts. Below are the instructions on how to get this done and get reimbursed by our league.

Full instructions on how to get this done they are detailed HERE

If you have NOT been fingerprinted for a Hamilton Township sponsored sport, you MUST be fingerprinted before coaching.
If you have any questions contact the Hamilton Township Recreation Department @609-890-4028.

Concussion Awareness Training (every two years):
Must complete an online 30 minute online training course concerning Concussion Awareness Training. The course is free and will provide you a certificate that you have taken the course at the completion of the course. The Center for Disease
Control (CDC) Heads Up: Concussion in Youth Sports is a free, online course available to all to help keep
athletes safe from concussion. Once you complete the training and quiz, you print out a certificate. When you are done the course you must upload the certificate into your coaching profile through our website/Sports Connect. The link to the course is https://www.cdc.gov/headsup/youthsports/training/index.html . If you have already taken the course the year before just produce the certificate to prove that you have taken the course. This is a state law for ALL youth sports.
